The additional seams allover this bottle indicate a more sophisticated process than the Romans were ever capable of. It does appear to be BIM and three-piece mold, which is still in use today for decorative decanters, vases, & art glass objects. The French used this method in a lot of decorative decanters, many of which were figurals and made during the Victorian Era, but this decanter is most likely Italian, or possibly Spanish, as both countries frequently used leather as "decoration" on bottles, decanters, et al......Circa 1950 - 1980. The "well-worn" label may well have been added to give the decanter a more vintage aged appearence. The English, Irish, & Scottish are known to have used the WHISKY spelling ,(vs the U.S. - Whiskey), perhaps indicating the label was applied in one of those countries by the Importer and, some time after the Fall of Rome.
