Went for a day of dirt throwing yesterday. That's about all it was too, very few finds.Temp was in the 90s . Moved about 5 ton of dirt for what your about to see. Oh well I need to lose about 40 pounds  so was a good day.

This is all I found after 7 hours of digging. Found lots of good broken bottles just couldn't find the whole ones. I guess it wasn't my day.

Nice plate, Gary! Those are hard to find unbroken. The pipes are great, I always enjoy finding them. Once in a great while, we will find a Benson's milk that made its way down here. ~Jim

Nice plate. I find a lot of broken plates and tea cups but never a whole one or even the pieces for me to put it back together. So good for you and maybe you can find more of them and hang them on your wall...I would.

I can relate.  A day of digging like that is called paying your dues. That just means you are in for a good dig soon. That plate is cool,  I've only managed to get a couple of whole plates  in over 25 years. It was pretty rare in those days to throw out anything that could still be used. Good finds, they'll be more!

Thanks everyone for the replys. Hopefully on the next dig I'll do better. Very frustrating moving all that dirt & ash for very few finds. Paid my dues on that dig. Thanks again.

Days like that can get me really discouraged.  But also they make me appreciate the good days more.  I've had a lot of days where I got completely skunked, and came back empty.  Not too many when it is 90 degrees though. Call me a pussy, but I can't dig in the hot humid weather!  Hope you hit a good pocket soon!

Cool stuff...Tyrone is 5 min north of Altoona via 220..I fished there when I was a kid.  I hunted in Huntington..Huntington is like 45 min to 1 hour south of Altoona.
