I think the archeologists that hate us diggers should read a post like this. In my opinion, we are a valuable source of information, and it comes from digging. And we do it because we love it, AND we spend our own money doing it. Tex. I found that catalog, and it shows four or five bottles similar to yours. They list them as French or English, 1790-1820, and you are right, they list them as a medicine. The whole collection was of New Orleans dug bottles including some spectacular colored pontiled bottles, embossed New Orleans, I think Coxe was one of the company names, if I remember. The bottles like yours were valued at around $100, that was back in the early 1990s.
