Cool!  Get what you can because once that area is developed you won't be able to dig.  Some other cool stuff will come when the dozers get to work.  My Dad found some neat stuff when they were developing the river front in Tonawanda. I'm in GA now.

That clear jar with the glass "pedestal" in the center is a glue jar. I dig a lot of them, here in Michigan.
I'll see if I can find my info on it and post it.

OK, I found it. The two compartments he referred to in the patent application appear to have been made the same size, instead of two sizes, as he referenced.
Other than that, this is it. The text refers to his earlier patent dates.

Hi Kastoo, this was an "unexpected" discovery.  Was a kinda like a  "Sunday" drive, and we stopped to see just what was happening along the waterfront. Thinking it was about damn time someone did something to enhance our area. All it took was looking at this huge pile of dirt and seeing bottles popping out. We have covered every pile and then some. Since 3 weeks have passed alot has been leveled, filled, and paved. Have been there every night till dark. I have found some cool things besides bottles too....it's been really fun! When you find your jar post a pic!

Druggist, thanks for the info on the glue jar. My jar is about 2 inches high, I'd think if the pedestal held the brushes they would be some tiny ones. Since I don't have the top for the jar, would it enclose the brushes?  Do you have any pics of a complete one?  Thanks again    Lisa

Course they do...they dig out their cars, they dig out their driveways and walks, they dig so they can see out their first floor windows. They dig all winter long some years...a hardy bunch up there....

I've had to dig out my car like that in NH, probably not as often as you.  I can't see the dog lol.

Laur, you really have to be more than "hardy" to endure a Buffalo winter. Just because we make the national news every year for our winters, doesn't make it a bad place at all. Not sure who digs around here in the winter, lol not me!

Here's the upswing on Buffalo.....

I've heard it's nice there and there are some great places to dig.  Ever heard of "Buffalo English"?

He had such a hard time getting thru all that snow! That was last Feb's BIG storm. Spring, summer and fall are very beautiful here.

Can't say I've heard of Buffalo English, what is it? Most of the places I've found was just from hiking around. The Eighteen Mile Creek area has alot of history, and its just a nice place to dig around. This waterfront project was being in the right place at the right time. Need to get a new camera, mine died!

It's just the accent, etc.  You can find more on google.  Good luck with the rest of your digs.

Laur, I read up on the Buffalo English....can't say I agree with alot of it. We do say "pop" not soda, and we do say "take the 90 to the 190". We do eat "beef on wecks", have the best chicken wings, use vinegar on french fries, and have a not so great football team!  I think its all about the different ethnic backgrounds in Buffalo.

Rick thanks for finding my dog!

Poisons4me....thanks for the info on the epoxy glue jar, are they common?

Nice sunset shot except for the POISON SUMAC(?) just to the right of the sun.  I hate that stuff.  I live about 1 hour and 20 minutes south of you.  Have dug in Buff on rare occasions.  Loved that Ferry St. location with Joe The Crow, like it was the South Bronx!  Do you belong to the Buff Club?  When Red Ginger gets back up here this weekend we should have you down for a dig in Limestone/Bradford.
