Excuse me Ratcat but the proof is gone now that one of your  replies to this post has been deleted where you  admitted to blowing the whistle. I wasn't shooting off my mouth SIR and have no reason to grandstand any BS,  only stating the facts. Your obviously a very opinionated arm chair collector with little understanding as to what it takes to dig a bottle and work your azz off in doing so on a regular basis. Does anyone one else find your comments annoying or is it just me ?

Here, Here I find his comments annoying and generally rude rarely does he say anything nice to anyone. Also Every member of this forum that I know personally (which is quit a few) all share my opinion of him however most of them are to polite to post saying so. And honestly I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he emailed sanborn and told them about how the password and user id had been leaked to the public. He reminds me of one of those people that can’t stand someone getting something for free. Especially when he has no use of what ever is free. Or can’t get it for free himself. And gets his kicks watching others suffer. I’d watch our backs because next thing you know he mite be lobbying congress to make bottle digging illegal every ware.

Chris

Name calling? I defy you to point that out. This post wasn't personal until you made it so, with your accusations and snide comments.
Glad you have a library card, you should use it more often. The children's section is that way. You should start with something like "A Duck is a Duck" or "The Cat in the Hat"

WOW that row of bricks just under the surface looks awfully... scary. I doubt even a hard hat would help that much!

The Bricks are a typical Philadelphia privy arch they are very strong and stable mortered brick. You have to smash them up with a breaker bar and sledge hammer. So we usually just leave them in place unless any part of them has become loose and unstable then we disassemble the entire arch.

You fellas hate the library huh? Reading is fudamental ya know. I didn't blow the whistle, if the whistle was indeed blown, and if I did that's just too bad right? Pound sand boys. That's the way the crapcake crumbles. And now that you two heros have shown me the light, I'm tickled to death the pass is gone.
Maxy boy don't talk to me about work. I do more before lunch time than you do all day. You want maps? Pay for them. Can't afford them? Too bad. Life's like that.
As for you Chrissy I couldn't care less what you and you girl friends think about me. Don't like me? Awwww, my life is consumed with thoughts of you seeing me in a good light. What will I do with all that free time now? And as far as library cards go Chris, get your self one. You seem to need one the most.

Right where you Said "Chrissy and your Girl friends" I think that could easily be calssified as name calling. Now you want to throw insults at my intelligence. Its sad when you have to stoop to such a low level to make yourself feel good. I simply stated my honest opinion of you. You have every right to state your opinion of me. However stooping to insults makes you look like a fool.

Chris

Glass man,

I don't know you or have anything against you. It’s cool with me that you like Lobey. I really don't care. I don't consider myself to be a very popular member of this forum. I don't post as often as I once did for several reasons. But my main problem with Lobey is quite simple. He needs to learn not to aggravate someone that is already aggravated. Someone posted that they were ticked off about the sanborn map site being shut down. The first thing he does is post in a manner to make them even madder. If he simply posted something along the lines of "It sucks that the login was removed" or simply kept his snide remarks to himself none of this would have started. It would be like someone joining the forum and posting in every thread that someone posts screw tops that they are junk and should be thrown away. All it does is cause more aggravation and keeps people from posting on this forum and separates us in the hobby more.

Boys! The testosterone is out of control! First – no posts were deleted. If you are looking for the post where he implies he may have reported this to Sanborn, it’s in the OTHER thread. Sure, lobey can have a sarcastic tone to many of his posts, but a lot of posts from others are downright rude. You all feel that you were entitled to get them for free because someone posted a user name and password on here 2 years ago? Heck, if I had found that old post, I would have used it too, but you didn’t pay anything for it… it wasn’t yours. With all the talk of entitlements in another thread – how government shouldn’t help people – people should help themselves – which backtracks at times to, well I understand some people need help, but too many people are trying to get something for nothing….. I guess that doesn’t apply to any of you here, right? And speaking of entitlements…. On the political issue – aren’t there too many rich people thinking that because they are rich, they are entitled to MORE? Hmmm… let’s think about all these over-paid execs that run their companies into the ground. But I digress – that’s a whole nother topic.
Let’s look at it another way – say someone wants you to cut your price down real low on a great bottle you dug, and you refuse, and they say to you “why not – you didn’t pay for it? You got it for free!” (true story) They are insulted that you won’t cut them a deal because apparently your time and hard work and research isn’t worth diddly-squat.. you are insulted that your time, hard work and research is not appreciated. Who’s right? You are!  You have choices, based on your personality and temper on how to tell them that your time is money. Some ways will be more polite than others, some more sarcastic than others, some downright rude. But you are right and they are wrong. And lobey is right and nobody should be crying about losing anything that they did not pay to legally obtain. You should be glad you had it as long as you did.  (and no – I didn’t turn anybody in – I didn’t know anything about the user name and password until it didn’t work anymore)

Kate

Kate,

My whole point was simply that Lobey likes to stir up more trouble. This is america People have as much right to complain as they do to cause aggravation. Really no one here is right or wrong it's an unwinnable argument. I stated my opinion of him in a reply to anothers users post. And then he starts with the insults. And again as an american I have my right to defend myself from those insults through freedom of speech. But I have grown tired of this crap so I'm done with it. If he choses to further insult me then more power to him.

Chris

I agree with chris, you have problems lobey. Earlier this year you wrote this and it really turned me off of this forum. I Never wanted to start anything. I would enjoy this forum alot more if you wern't so negative lobey.
Negative comments have a negative effect on most people and it makes you look like a negative person.

As for you Digger George you have no place in any conversation concerning any of these matters. You've never been more than 100 miles from mommies house. Your feeling patriotic? Go down and inlist....until then shut your mouth. You've been nowhere, done nothing, and contributed squat to this country, so don't miss the next bus back to Boys Town.

Happy days boys
Lobey.

You guys need to chill out a little here, it's all in good fun. It's obvious the Cat can dish it out but can't take it, hey that's cool but quit kicking your dog Cat man. Everyone is entitled to have a negative opinion of others but few ever truly express it.  I guess by hiding behind a computer they feel  more safe in doing so. You can't take someone serious who is obviously clueless about whom their talking about. Any hard core privy digger will tell you that maps are only a fraction of the research and time involved that goes into the hobby, their no big deal. I barely break even when I dig when you figure all the expenses and time involved. So if I get a free map at home instead of at the library for a quarter, big deal, it's not hurting anyone. Do you have any idea how much  this map company is screwing people with the excessive cost they charge ? Do you think their telling folks to go to the library and get it for a quarter when they can rip you off instead by charging $150  for a single page ? Who's taking advantage of who here ?  Burp, hey will someone pass me a beer ?

Geo. when you take it out of context like that it looks a lot worse than it is. Post the whole conversation. Having said that, those words where true then and they're true now. We all know you boys are attempting to get a little payback for your buddy Matt, who was unceremoniously booted from the forum (with good reason).
My comments on this thread where about the whining and ungreatful attitude about having lost access to a site they where able to use free of charge for two years. I have no idea how or why the password was canceled nor do I care. I was not the only one who commented along those lines. It's gone now, like your pal and the world moves on. I know times are economically tough on you Philly boys right now and you're worried about jobs and your 401 K's (moved mine to CD's I suggest you do the same) and you're just lashing out, out of frustration. I understand your concerns and feel for you.  The future for you guys is bleak but Barack is on the way. If there's anything I can do for you in the mean time, just let me know. I love you all.
Lobes.

to all concerned, if you dont like what others post you can always block that user and never have to look at thier posts again. I think that is a better solution than people leaving the forum. Use the power given to you.
I currently have no one blocked so people just arent trying hard enough

Lobey, I realize you are who you are, nobody can change that, but when I read some of the many comments you have posted,  you can be really disrespectful.   I know, I know, so what, right?  Who cares what I think?  Shut up, whatever, blah, blah, blah.  I'm guessing you think it's funny to be rude.  You once told me when I said I wanted to dig a cobalt skull, "You will never dig a cobalt skull", then went on and told me to "save my boxtops" so I could buy one.  What are you trying to accomplish by making comments like that?  How does that reply help the hobby?  I bet most people on this forum would rather not have that kind of unprovoked  response to a comment.  I don't know you but I think you have a lot of nerve to talk down to other members, especially when they aren't addressing you personally.  Yes, you know a lot about bottles, and you do share that info, and that helps the hobby. However, you seem to enjoy being disrespectful.  It's a free country, you say what you want, I say what I want,  it's just too bad this forum ends up as a boxing ring.   Hey, we could all stick to the subject at hand,  which is bottles !!  We could be nice to each other.   I joined to get info and share info on digging and collecting bottles, and show off my finds to other bottle collectors.   Lobey, you are good at provoking people.  There's got to be a use for that skill somewhere.   Some laugh, some cry!  Down with Lobey!  Lobey for President!  Whatever.  "The world moves on" . Well said, Lobey.

ahhhhhh give us a hug Paul! I really hope you dig a skull (not mine) and I hope it's pristine. I'm a realist, a cynic, and crudely sarcastic. Picked that up on the Island while the Marines where re-wiring me. The condition was further acerbated at the beach in Kuwait. Three days of raining oil somehow affected my god given common sense. For this I apologize. My fingers tend to type comments before the ole brain works them through. Again I'm sorry. I'm trying, I really am

Mess with the Italians, take your chances.   The Sanborn maps never appealed to me that much.  Plus, they can't find you a dump that's on a beach.  Go Lobey!

Bottlesam, I was able to get into the site, I am a college student, what I did was emailed my Univerity and ask them about Sanborn Maps, they replied by saying that I can either go to the Library and view them or link directly to the site VIA University of Hawaii system, after getting into the site, I typed in my name and student ID #, and was able to view the maps, the only problem is I was able to only view towns in Hawaii, which is fine with me, I suggest you call your University in your area and see if they have any information, or maybe if you know someone who is going to college, hope this information will help.
