Hi all. Im new here and starting in Oct. 2003 I began to collect medicine and poison bottles. Among my collect of 30+, I have a small brown bottle.
Sorry there is no picture - picture will come later. It is 2 1/4 inches tall, it has 6 sides, rolled lip, and its' embossed with the words SHARP & DOHME on one side and BALTIMORE on another.
I got this for $2 at a flea market.
I would just like to know what it was, exactly. I was told it was poison, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

I have the same bottle, But i don't know what its from. My dad's a plumber in chicago and he found it one day at work. I have pictures... But It won't let me put them on here cause its a TIF File. :(

Does your bottle have the number '29' on the bottom?

That is because TIF files are for output to a printer and cannot be viewed directly in a browser without a plugin. The standard is JPG and you can get an excellent FREE photo editor which will convert one to the other as well as crop them to a decent size etc.,here.

It's definitely a poison bottle (Sharp & Dohme made lots of them). It's unfortunate that the word "POISON" doesn't appear on them. Nice find to add to the collection!

I am Bottle Queen, now called Bottle Girl. I changed my name but Im the same person. In response to FalseHope87 - yes, it does have a 29 on the bottom, and a 4, and S&D. And to Pontiled, I'm thrilled that it's a poison bottle. I was told that it might be but I wasn't sure. This is cool because I got it for $0.50 at a flea market out of an old basket that was full of junk. I do have a picture of it.
Thanx for the responses everybody. I am happy!

Whoops! This is incorrect. I got a bottle for $2 at the same flea market as I did the S&D but the S&D was $0.50. I got a Piso Company bottle at the same place for $2.00 and I gave the wrong price. Silly me

I read the discussion about the number on the bottom of the 6 sided 2 1/4 inch Sharp & Dohme bottle discussion. I happen to have one of these too, so I looked on the bottom of mine, and it has the number 63.

Anybody know what these numbers signify?

I have 3 Sharp&Dohm six side poison bottles I have dug.
----------2-----------3------------
Bases:--S&D--------S&D-------29.--
---------29----------29-----------

Get some more input we might be able to figure out what the base Embossed #'s represent.
