I know i ate my share of lead paint chips.. I'd pick 'em fresh off the side of the house, behind the bushes.. I was crappin' sinkers for a while!

Sometimes I just licked the white powder off the chips.. first my tongue would tingle, then it would go numb.. then I realized I didn't need to pick chips off the siding, I could just lick the wall! I kept the first 3-4 feet of that house good-n-clean.. fond memories..

That looks like what is called white metal LC. No lead but a lot of zinc, antimony and the like. Sure would like to throw a couple dozen Civil War or WW1 soldiers.

Does it stay shiney like that all the time? Led tarnishes really quick. Could be lead solder. That would make it about 40% lead and it would stay pretty shiney for a while.

Either way very cool item.

The printing blocks stay pretty shiney , it will lose a bit of its luster over time . The block of lead I show in the picture is shining more so because of the way the light is hitting it I believe .

I had an aluminum WW1 soldier mold , like a fool went to heat it up with a blasted torch , haven't got a clue as to what the devil I was thinking . Was not paying attention to what I was doing and melted the whole corner off one side of the mold , made me sick . I have a WW11 soldier mold somwhere in a box with a couple of other molds , but will have to look for them . Seems to be the way of things around here ..................
