Chris, Doug and I are putting together a bunch of items we dug on this site to make a display for the private grade school that is being built there. The owner of the property was pretty excited about the display and very interested in our digging ( along with his 5 y/o son). Here are some things that are going into it.

Strange but it is things like this that I love from these old pits, it's a sea trout jaw from the 1700's pit. We also found a sea turtle skeleton that were cut up from being eaten and a few terripin shells.

What an awesome dig you had!!  Nice work!!!  Lot's of beautiful exceptional pieces of history!  AND you saved a cat AND you are giving back to the local community by making a display for a school.  That's class act right there.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments this lot has been a great learning experience for me that would not have been possible without Chris and Doug. They have so much knowledge about everything that comes out of the pits that you cannot help but learn. I think I will start calling chris the pit whisperer because the way and speed he can find pits is just unreal, we would have gone home many a day without digging anything if it were not for his expertise at finding pits and being able to tell which ones are the best to dig and which ones would be a waste of time.

Really fantastic stuff! Thanks for posting it. You Baltimore guys are "grass roots" archeologists in my opinion. The age of the stuff you get is amazing, and to think it could easily wind up plowed up by bulldozers if you didnt carefully excavate it. Great stuff. The reconstruction of the pottery stuff doesn't get you any "coin", but it is appreciated by those of us who are just drooling over the gorgeous colors and slip glaze of these early utilitarian pieces. I appreciate what you guys do. Look forward to more!
