I keep looking at those diamond labeled bottles and they sure look like Coca Cola bottles to me. In my research, Coke was first bottled in San Diego in 1910 by two former San Diego Soda Works employees the Schnepp brothers who opened up their Silver Gate Soda Works bottling plant right down the street from San Diego Soda Works. According to the San Diego Historical Society, the picture was taken in 1903, so if they are Coke bottles they were imported from some where else. The diamond label was used by Coke bottlers in San Diego & Los Angeles up until around 1915-17 when the Hobble Skirt version became the norm. I have talked to a couple old time bottle diggers from San Diego, and they told me they have dug many of these Coke bottles in dumps they dated in the teens by the stuff they were finding. Of course the paper lable was gone and no city was embossed on them. I do have a 1915 & 1923 Hobble Skirt bottle embossed San Diego on the bottom. FYI - Sorry for the large picture of the umbrella. Didn't know it would be that large when I uploaded it....Mike
