Great pic's Joe and Laur. I still love a good hike in beautiful country. Too bad about the tick....I hate those pestulant little buggers! They serve no good purpose on God's green Earth.

If you grind them up, they probably cure cancer! Not sure what else they're good for. I hate them too.
Strangely, I found the same broken bottle on Monday. Not sure if I kept the piece or not, as our dig got cut a bit short. I did find the bottom of an old glass that we had found 2 other pieces for a few weeks ago. I'm working on cleaning it so I can glue it back together. (I think people are going to think it's pretty!)

Looks like a fun day, guys!

Hey Joe what do you think that was used for? fire brick is bit pricey to use.

Not sure yet but will share when I find out....There seems to be equal parts regular and fire brick mortared in there, so don't really know...(The fire bricks are debossed  BAR-CLAY...found a bunch in the creek.) also there were deliberate holes mortared in near the top for what looks like boards or pipes to pass through. The structure also looks like it continued for some way before it was chopped short.
