Nice find Bill , that Maysville stuff is hard to come by . I had an early 1900 paper label whiskey bottle in my auction a few years back from Maysville . Found out later the auctioneer sold it in with a box of other whiskies , knew it was there , and never even made mention of it .

Yeah Bill, I've seen those types of tops on abm bromo's. Are these blown, or machine made? Did you get any of the Huge counter size? They are worth holding onto for sure. Any errors or odd colors I would keep as well. As far as all the machine made bromo's... I pitch em. Not enough room in Texas to store em all!!! LOL

Thanks LC finding the med made my day.Pickle right now I'am right at 4 and a half foot and have hit bottom or a hard clay cap .Hoping its a cap and it gos deeper. It looks to be late 1890s to 1910 or so as far as age .I'am going to try and clean out by a wall in the morning a follow it down to see if I've hit bottom for sure.Chris it seems to be a mix of blown and ABM mostly ABM though.I did get 3 of the large one that were whole so far.Did get a couple of blown Celery Caffeins and Bromo Caffeins that have nice colors. So what are the backwards Zs worth I pulled a dozen or so of them out today.

I had one of those big Bromo's , and gave it away to a person who took on about its color , kind of wish I had kept it now , like the cobalt myself . Only dug one of them , dug plenty of the small ones . Back in the ninties , I would sell the small ones for three and four dollars a piece . Probably worth only a buck now since thousands of them have been dug up over the years .

One of our forum members sold one for $31 on Fleabay not to long ago. If you put all of them on there at once you probably won't get nearly that much. Do you set up for bottle shows? If so I'd put one out on the table for $20. If it sells then pull out another one and put it in its place. I've never heard of the Baltcmore error either so that's an interesting variation that could be worth a few more then the backwards Z. You should keep the different errors that you've found and see if you can collect all of the errors. Very sweet dig and that Celery one is pretty sweet too. Swiz

So any guess what this is all .Mybe a doser or a perfume or a super small bud vase.

It looks like a liner for a small vase. Sterling and base metal containers often had liners to keep the metal from corroding.

From the looks of it, the obscene abundance of bromos constitutes the majority of the money value of the stuff in that pit so far. I was selling ABMs in lots of 20 for 30-40 bucks on ebay. Those druggists are great, but you are discarding the bread-and-butter bromos so unless you have a great job and dig solely for fun without a care at all for money, those 800-1,000 cobalts would be worth keeping and selling.

Congrats on the errors and other cool finds, and thanks for taking those extraordinary pictures! Looks like those people had a disorder which caused them to crap nothing but bromos!

Hello Bill,

Thanks again for sharing this Bromorific dig. If you have the time & inclination, please take some more photos of this/these double ring finishes. First of that type that I've ever seen.

I think the most Bromos I ever pulled out of a single hole was 5. You've dug a cache of several lifetimes in one privy. Have you done any researching on the identity of the dyspeptic and headache plagued former residents?

Surface heres a few pics for you. Hope these show what your looking for.As far a research go's I do have a good ideal who lived there and I belive he had a very stressful job .Publishing and editing for a local news paper.I dont want to say to much until I'am done ,Which could take awhile.Yea Red I was happy with the other than bottel finds myself and I did get a couple of dozen backward Zs..I sude say the wife did most of the digging Sat. untill there was a small cave in ,Shes fine only got a little scratch .Shes a tuff cooky and can move pretty fast I must say .After moving a little more dirt she let me back in the pit and I stole the day with 2 more nice local med.Shes really good about letting me dig the good stuff. She knew they were there and let unearth them.Well I have to say this has really been a fun week for me I'am pretty sore though. But I have to get back tomorrow an fill the pit in and start looking for the older pit.Oh yea Plumbata My hats off to any one who can sale lots of 20 for that much cash. I don't have an ebay account so I stuck with having to store them and only selling 1 or 2 at a time at the few shows I do.Oh and as LC said the local bottles from around here bring really good money compaired to most places.
Thanks agian all for your replys, well wishs and info.
