I think the 5th and 6th are great!  Not too far away, but far enough to give people time to make arrangements!

sorry but cant be on long right now have to run, but the forum dig as of now is going to be postponed. Reason being that alot of you would have been very disipointed with the location and the dump itself. I will explain later but I have to run right now. What we need is someone to think of a new dump location.
Sorry everyone

Ryan

yea uh...let me tell the tale then...

since ryan made me look to be the bad guy...i said i wasnt there in a year. i knew people dig there, but DUHHHH i didnt think they would dig it wrong at the top of the slope. the reason he said you would be disappointed, is because you have to dig hard. through the fill. if your a hardcore digger, you wouldnt be disappointed. you would find goooood stuff.

RYAN found some nice stuff and should post pics. my buddy GEORGE found some keepers, and i had a heat stroke. still got an enamel sign though.

MAYBE PEOPLE STILL WANNA COME?

JULY or AUGUST?

Dirtflickrdude is generous for letting some people in his dump that he has permission from the Police Chief and the Mayor. He must have some connections to the dump behind the Whitehouse too. We thank you for your generosity dude. You pull nice stuff out too. Everyone here should be emailing him for a spot to go dig that dump.

Matt.

What was pulled from there, and what depth are we talking?  If it is worth the work that is fine.  I think that there may be some that would like to go up there and check it out.  Did you happen to notice any decent motels in the area that would be safe to stay in?  I am going up this weekend, if not to dig, then to visit my uncle and put his
but tin the car to show us some dumps.  So what are we doing ? thanks

Sorry dirtflicker, I wasn't talking about up there in your neck of the woods. Although, I would love to be up there instead of here. Got two people talking at once on this post.   I was responding to philbottles.  But just so you understand , four feet is nothing.  Did you say that because I am a woman? LOL   I happen to do very well myself,  and with my hubby we make a great team.  I hope your dig works out better than this one did.

Ok Im back. More info on the dump dig deal. Ok like I said before this might not be the best place to have the forum dig.  Matt and I dug for about 4 hrs and didnt find anything really worth digging. George, Matt's buddie dug in about 3 or 4 spots and got lucky finding an older section that wasnt dug but was under feet and feet of fill dirt. I did pull out some desent stuff there when I dug next to george, but most of the stuff is 30s and 20s stuff.  The ovious known parts that are not dug, are compacted and crap and hard to break through, filled with mostly ash and clay, which kinda sucks. Also Have to mention for the people who might feel uneasy about getting robbed or shot lol, might not like this place. Matt and I saw about 10 naked homeless dudes  with 40's. They were washing them selfs off in the river 10 feet from us, none of which could speek english they didnt give us problems though. No lie about an hr later a crack head I mean freaking crack head came and did the same thing but he didnt notice us. I am probly going back tomorrow to see if I can find a good strech of undug dump that is older then the 20s for the people interested in coming down. I am going to call you later matt, I tried earlyer but you werent home. Right now I have to go fix my truck the trans like fell out of it coming back from hersey. Luckly it happend 20 ft from my house.

Ps. Matt didnt mean to make you look like the bad guy at all bro. You never dig at this dump and you had no idea. You were the only one to give info on a dump which would be suitable for a forum dig, its not your fault at all bro, not at all.

Peace for now
Ryan

There are very few places in Norristown that are going to be safe.  I am almost positive I know what dump you are talking about now.  Isn't this also the place that they have found bodies that were dumped.  Maybe it would be better to find someplace that people wouldn't have to look over their shoulders to make sure they are not going to get pelted in the head with something while digging.  Also don't want to worry about getting stuck with one of their clean needles that they toss.  All big city dumps are like that. No wonder I was told to stay away.

Wow, I didn’t realize Norristown was such a bad town. If you find some good bottles tomorrow I would still like to dig there sometime. I was getting a little excited but then you stared talking about all the back fill you have to dig through. Is the dump over a hill or in a flat area? What’s the oldest stuff that any of you three were finding? Any Dill’s Balm of Life's ? LOL, I find them all over the place.
