Hi Ryan,
Wright,s were in business in  Philadelphia from around 1854 -1876. I assume your lid shows a man shaving. Is this the one with him standing or sitting and also is the print overglaze or underglaze.

Hi Ryan,

Not one I have seen before but is definitely from Philadelphia and would be from around 1860.
Quite a nice lid although relatively plain for a U S pot lid. What is the diameter of the lid

Shame, I thought after reading the descritpion it was going to be another  type of lid that wrights had for Shaving powder. The one i refer to has a picture of a man shaving. Its a real beauty, and came in two varients AFAIK. A black and whit and a Sepia print. The Lid can be seen below. There are also varients of man looking in mirror.

Ahhhhh....I can see it now. A little hot water, rub some slimy rendered animal fat on my face, whip out the old straight razor and in 6 weeks I'm out of the hospital and ready to try again.

It is a beautiful pot lid.

Whats really interesting is that last week, I was offered the B&W mint ,and the Sepia varient as a pair Originals dug in the UK, for £2100, (about US$4000).

They will appreciate in value. They are still for sale let me know if interested.

CF, You are talking of the eddes UK lid correct? The link you show is a US lid and the harder of the 4 varients with the cut face transfer.
