Angela,  The jug your boys found looks like the cheap wine that was popular in the 70's, Don't  let any one clean the copper or bronze coins, it will only show the pitting once the patina is removed.

There are several types of large cents,  more than likely both of yours are the Coronet type 1816-1857.  The 51 might be worth putting up. Nice finds

When I find cool coins like that I always put the in my small items display. i don't know enough about them to try and sell them even if I wanted to. I think they are neat little pieces of history.
