Nice little pitcher. I seem to recall this type being imported from overseas back in the 1970s. Or, it could have been from Mexico. There's so much art glass out there it's getting harder and harder to tell the old from the new.

I would run away from that as fast as I could.
Many little bubbles, but where are the seed

In my opinion the piece is quite new I'd say less then 30 years old. It just has that made overly crude to make it look old look to it. The quality of the glass is pretty bad and no 18th or 19th centaury American glass house would have allowed such a piece to leave the factory. One thing I suggest is to find a reputable dealer and buy a piece of early glass with good real base wear. Then study this type of wear with at least a 10x loop. Also I suggest take a common unembossed bottle and take a piece of 600 grit sand paper and try to create some artificial base wear and study that under your loop also you will be able to clearly see the difference between the real and the faked base wear. Then when you go out antiquing always take your loop with you and look at the normal wear spots on any piece you think might be old. It doesn't take much everyday use for a piece to have some normal base wear. Most early glass is quite soft when compared to more modern glass formulas. And any piece that has no wear at all should be suspect.

Thanks Chris!
Great advice, I have a loop somewhere, if not I will buy another.
