We broke through another clay cap today and hit glass and ash again. The cathedral peppersauce was under the cap, and the broken aqua tree flask was right next to it. I would love to find a good colored historical flask in here! We already got the good aqua Double Eagle half pint, so hopefully a few more survived. Sadly, the big pit bottomed out today at 21 feet. The floor is solid concrete, leading me to believe that it may have been a big cistern prior to being used as a privy. We finished up yesterday and today with a nice little open-pontiled umbrella ink, an A. Stone lug fruit jar lid and a few puffs. We got about 20 open-pontiled pieces in total. We will have a new pit lined up for the weekend! Hopefully, it will be at least as good as this one. Although it was a bummer to not get any blob sodas, it was a great pit overall with the druggists, hutches and pontils.
