I have a friend that is looking to find out what a bottle she found some time ago is worth. The bottle is a Walker's Kilmarnock. The odd thing I have noticed about the bottle is that Walker's started making this brand of whiskey around 1825 when he purchased the company but the bottle my friend found has a date of 1803. Maybe someone in this forum can explain that to me and hopefully know an approx value. Thanks.

Bpccnr,

why do you think it dates from 1803? Can you post a pic showing a closer view of the top? These generally fetch about $10 and I would be willing to purchase it if it to be sold. These happen to be my favs.

Hi bpccnr, welcome to the bottle forum .
The 1803 on the base is a mold mark/number not a date, hard to tell from the photo but I'd say your bottle is from around 1910 give or take a decade.

Hey bpccnr,

I have the same bottle. I did a quick search on msn and found that walkers kilmarnock was produced right around the turn of the century to about 1910. The name more familiar to us "Johnny Walker" was introduced thereafter. That 1803 on the bottom was a real stumper for me as well.
