Then finally, a gift from my folks. Some 'rocks' my Mom has been picking up at my uncle's house.  I also picked up a nice book on Pa. stoneware. Titled: BIG WARE TURNERS The history and manufacture of Pennsylvania stoneware by Phil Schaltenbrand. A book with many VERY rare pieces to drool over!

Hey Meech!  You want to sell that Gay-Ola??   I have some with the slug plates--an amber and an aqua from Harriman, Tenn. and a couple from Oneida, Tenn.  Must have made a bunch of small town Gay-Olas.

Hey Meech...

I don't know, but that looks like a Craftsman screwdriver to me... I don't see a Hutch...

dewdog - I'm keepin' it for at least a couple of months. I want to throw it on eBay for everyone to have a chance, but really haven't settled on anything yet. I'll try to keep you posted though.

southern Maine - It's left of the screwdriver (yes, 16" Craftman) in the darker semicircle or 'cave'.

Hey Meech, I hope the trip back was a good one. Did ya get to stop at any shops on the way? Those bottles cleaned up pretty good too. Did I mention you're not allowed to sell anything you dig with me! Just kidding!

Hey Zane -
The trip back took 10 hrs. (normally about 7.5) and was a tough drive. The high winds and heavy rain made it horrible. It was just testing my truck. It climb some of those mountains in six gear, while holding the speed limit or better.
We did stop at two places for goodies. Have you ever heard of The Seneca Glassworks in Morgantown? I stumbled on it after seing a sign before I-68. The museum opens there at the end of the month. I took tons of photos but most came out bad and blurry (I was jogging in place it seemed). I did find a good PA stoneware book (see above) at one shop there. Ever heard of it?

Sell??? I was thinking about donating one of them. Is that allowed?

PS --- Your milk was black and took some scrubing to move that stuff. It sparkles now and is very close to mint. I would call this 'mint' like it is in unused condition mint.

I'm glad the milk came out like it did. It's always nice to have one with the original cap. Besides it keeps dirt out of the inside of the bottle while on display. Glad to hear ya had a good trip back too. Your gonna have to come back up soon so we can dig a few more places. You should see the holes me and Josh probed out yesterday!
