My husband and I just bought some property and it has three separate dump sites.  Well, at least I've found bottles in three different areas.  I am very excited about the new hobby! I've tried researching a lot of what I've found and that's how I found y'all.  I know most of my "treasures" are very common and around 50-60 years old.  I just wanted to share them with some people who won't think they are just a bunch of old bottles.

I would really like to know what came in the little white bottle with the scalloped trim.  Also, any books you can recommend that will help me identify these more common items.

Thank you!

Here is another interesting little white jar.  Some others I have found  are medicine bottles, Squibb, Lysol, Clorox, Dr. Pepper, Metholatum, Othene, Rexall, Hinds, Heinz, French's...

Hey Jessica, Welcome to the forum. The little milkglass container had some type of beauty aid in it like cold cream. The Squibb bittles come in clear, cobalt, green and amber and in 4 or 5 sizes. Not much value per bottle but IU sold a set of all 4 colors in 4 sizes for 60 bucks to a druggist and they make a great display a great display. If you could post a pic of the Hinds and The Dr pepper it would help to date you dumps a little better. Some times older stuff is underneath.

Thanks!  I just got back and was happy to see your response.  I just found a little Pond's with a tin lid and a medicine bottle with 666 on the black lid.  Everything from this new spot seems pretty new.  The Dr. Pepper bottle is one of the 10-2-4 bottle's from around the 50's.  The Squibb bottles are both clear and the same size.  Almost everything is clear, white, or amber.  I've found 3 blue (I believe) Vick's jars.  Here is a picture of the Hind's Honey and Almond Cream.

Thanks! The other one, hard to read, is Barton's Dynashine.  It's an old shoe polish.  Do you know anything about this pic. It says 1939 12 9 8 on the bottom?

I tried to send a picture of the whole collection but it said the file is too big.  Is there a  way to attach more than one pic at a time?  I have found about 100 bottles.  Here is another I'm interested in the history.  It says Cal-So-Dent.

I'll try it.  It will take me a while to figure out how to do that.  I was thinking the Cal-so-Dent  is some kind of dental product, but I'm really not sure. I'll send my collection soon.  I think it's awesome!
Here's one more in the mean time.

Well now, a W.B. Caldwell's makes you a bonified bottle digger. That is the kind of bottle that has fallen many a sturdy soul via the bottle disease. It is very common but many long time diggers/collectors have one including myself. The Cal-So-Dent is tooth polish.

By the looks of your finds you are possibly in a turn of the century (TOC) to early 1930s dump. There may be some late throw aways in there too or some older stuff under the stuff you are finding.

Welcome to the ranks of those who fallen to the disease.

I know...I'm braggin... but I have 2 Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin bottles!  Now I need to find the laxative.  Yes, I'm hooked.  Here's another pic. Let me know what you know.  These are little chapstick tins or something.  One says Selecto and the other Merry Widow.  I can't find anything on the internet.
THANKS!

Welcome Jessica.  I am new to the forum also; however I have been collecting bottles for over 40 years.  Ran across a pile of bottles and jugs on my Grandmother's land while hunting. I must have looked a sight trying to lug all that I could home. Every pocket and hunting pouch packed with bottles. The Bottle Bug Bit.
Yes , I have most of the bottles in your pics. in my collection.  Give em a good cleaning and find a good spot to display them.
The WB Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin appears to be a machine made bottle.  Check to see if the mold seam on the side goes all the way to the top. Your sites appear to be from the 1920's thru as late as the 1950's. These are a part of History.  As you study bottles you learn history, and if you love history you will love bottle collecting.  Good Luck!!!

Hey Warren...

They couldn't be condom tins... they wouldn't fit in your wallet!!!!  And it would leave a round bulge in your pants pocket...

Warren is correct.  My dad ran a Country Store when I was coming up in the 50's. Three per pack.  The brand he sold came in plastic containers and each were aluminum foil wrapped.
