Brian,

Brandon is SO right about plates! see how much of a pack rat I am...I have a bunch of them and completely forgot!! Geesh...no wonder my wife thinks I'm crazy.

Anyhow, if you're not interested in gthe porcelain marrettes, would you consider parting with them? A trade perhaps?

Brian

I think thats a good idea, Brian- could you post a pic of some of the varieties of marrets that you have? I want to be sure that what I'm finding is what you want. Wouldn't want to end up sending you some other thing

Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile- I've been busy digging the dump and preparing for Fourth of July fireworks. Anyway, I've went digging three times since the last post, with an average of 12 bottles per day. Mostly 1920-1940, but I did happen to get an awesome green whiskey with applied lip (I posted it in the What is it? Pre 1900 under James Buchanan & Co.) I've also found a ton of porcelain lid inserts, a couple game pieces, salt/pepper shakers, etc. I'll post pics once I take them. Hope all is well with everybody. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend! -Brian R.

I've been digging this dump a couple times a week this summer, and at last count I have gotten 135 keepers, along with nearly 75 artifacts (coins, horseshoes, porcelain inserts for fruit jars, farm equiptment, marbles, figurines, pocketwatch, locks, china, etc.) I'm slowly getting to the end, but I thought I'd post this cool picture of five bottles sticking out from a ledge that I am slowly digging in to. I think there is a whiskey on top, an ink, a lysol, a fruit jar, and a medicine. Happy Digging!

Hey Brian: Is that not a hutch lying horizontally? -- the clear bottle? Anyway, terrific for you! I, personally, love these types of pics with the bottles still partially buried. I take them whenever I can myself. Just took one with a disposable yesterday and waiting until I finish the roll. It was of a local bimal crown that I luckily found partially exposed while hunting in the mountains. I'd love to see that bottle that looks like a hutch when it's all cleaned up. Take care.

As most of you know,Snakeboy & I have being digging a very deep ravine dump for the last few months.
The digging problem is jumping around from place to place, what you have to is start at the bottom and work up,this way the slag & dicards are behing you.
Best to start at one side and work across and back again, this way the slag also becomes a platform to work from.
Place any discards to one side out of the way,who knows you may hear about someone who is interested in them even if you are not!!
But try not to break too many even if you find lots of the same, after all we've all found a dump with nothing but broken bottles, and its not a nice feeling or sight.
................................................................................................................

Well' up here in the Frozen North its about -20-- digging is over for another season............................
but I'm thinking of something like a portable ice fishing hut with heater and lantern
we could carry to the site, set it up for the winter and ...............

DIG!....DIG!.....YES!....we have the technology!!we can DO IT."To go where no frozen Canadian as Gone before.

"Whew,sorry about that".
Damn"I have to slap myself every once in awhile".......still an all!!!!!!!!!!
