From what I can find out these jars were filled with Welch's grape jelly and started in 1953..Buy the jelly- when it is gone- wash the jar and you have a glass. They seem to be priced from $8.00-$20.00. With Dilly Dally being one of the $20.00 ones.. Who the Heck is Dilly Dally?... I watched that show and I can't remember any Character by that name. I think I will go and google him, her, it????
Hope this helps with the time frame...By the way. FlubADub is only woth $8.00 and that was always my favorite.....Norene

Well, I found Dilly Dally..No wonder I forgot him...lol...Norene

Dilly Dally
Phineas T. Bluster's nervous sidekick

The rather dim-witted carpenter (whose main talent was wiggling his ears), usually got mixed up in his uncle's nefarious schemes to steal attention from Buffalo Bob and the rest of us. The "D" on Dilly Dally's sweatshirt is not his initial, but stands for "Doodyville High School" He was the waterboy for their football team.

Yep. I'm one of the Howdy Doody gang.  Couldn't wait to watch the next show.  It's amazing that a discarded jelly glass can trigger such memories of the past.
