I'm doing some research for my husband, so forgive me sounding so naive here!  I'm guessing this is a poison.  Any more information you can provide from the picture would be great.  Is this type of bottle common and/or valuable?  thanks everyone.  Really appreciate it!

That is a classic poison bottle. There are several minor variations in the skulls on that type. They are somewhat uncommon, but not rare. They do have some value, usually around $40-60. I have always liked that bottle. No bumps, ribs or lettering- just a nasty-looking skull that says it all. ~Jim
