picked up a fruit jar that is slick (no embossing) anyone know what this might be??? I wouldn't even know what to look under in the red book to find it. I held it in the light to see if there was any ghost letters I didn't see any... thanks

I forgot to say shape of jar. I really don't know proper term for it.. it is like the mason nov 30th 1858 kinda like a beehive shape.

Some jars were only identifiable by their lid or base. It would be good to see a pic

Many jar makers, such as Ball, produced jars that were identical to their standard line but without embossing. These jars were then sold to packers who put whatever label they wanted on the jar.
