I think ever type of bottle has a numbering systems, created by someone who had been in the hobby for years and wanted to create a universal way of identifying that line of bottles. In the Poison world, Rudy and Terry Kuhn created what is considered today the standard in poison identification standards. All poisons bottles that have been IDed have a K#-### where after the K is a letter denoting the shape (or category) and the last 3 are numbers noting the sequence in which it was identified. So, a KR-6b is a Rectangular in shape, 6th bottle placed in the list. the "b" denotes a variant. The regular KR-6 has HK MULFORD CO CHEMISTS PHILADELPHIA embossed on the front, where the "b" issue has no embossing on the front, the HK MULFORD is embossed on the base. And the one you picked up is a KR-10 and is Canadian. They are very popular and come in several sizes.
