Here's one that I dug last summer that didn't fare so well. I don't know the number of it but it has a banjo player on one side and a dancer on the other. I'm pretty sure that I hit it with the probe as I was searching for the privy. That is why one shouldn't probe any extra holes in the ground once a privy has been located.  To date, I have never found a whole historical flask. This probably would have been my 1st. I dug 19 broken historical flasks on this one property alone. You bought a good one there. If I don't find a whole one soon, it looks like that's what I'll be doing soon.

John Lee Chapman was a very interesting guy he started out as a druggists and then became a glass agent then manufacture of glass in the early 1850s then by the civil war he was Mayor of Baltimore City. I have a signed letter of his around someware from while he was mayor .

Great flask Bob dont see it very often on the market.
I know in a lot of your posts its obvious you have a great historical flask collection.
A little while back I think you stated you were going to start to sell off your doubles.
If you could send me a list via email I could do the same I have a lot of Jenny Lind
original flasks along with other historical flasks I have doubles of you might be interested in.
.Flasks that  I am currently looking for are South Jersey, any where, Dyott flasks particularly the GI-95 I have every other Frankilin Flask but that one.Coffin and Hay is another glass works I am really pursuing .I just aquired a Solomn H Stanger original flask he made in Glassboro in 1827.Solomon was one of the Stangers that left Wistarburgh in Alloway New Jersey in 1783 and founded Glassboro in that same year.If you look in the book American Glass by Mckearin page 166
plate 61 top right flask number 4.A note attached to the flask states as follows:49 years old 1876 blown by Solomon H Stanger in Glassboro. This puts the date of the flask to 1827 right at the time the Whitneys were about to aquire the works.I now own this bottle picked it up from an antiques dealer a few days ago I will post pictures and some historical statements later in the weekend. It came with documentation in the form of a letter stating its authenticity My Email address is coachstevea@yahoo.com
thanks Bob.
