today during break I was walking by the river and I spotted this square shaped rock, I figured it was a random peace of pottery, but picked it up it had the name Norton stamped into the top in an oval, I'm a big fan of the local Norton potters and I've found peaces of jugs and other stoneware so I suspected it was from there but all day I kept thinking of what it could have been. it's 4 inches and square with the end broken off . I could tell once I got it cleaned up it wasn't pottery, I found out it's a Norton sharpening stone, I believe it's an older one it looks sort of like this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Norton-Sharpening-Stone-/370527703022?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56452c0fee It was just a fun find because usully the only Norton I find around here is realated to the local pottery, Actully I've walked in that river many times looking for pottery and bottles it's funny how you can go to a place almost 100's of times and still miss stuff.
