old bottles - 9/10/2004 7:45:29 PM    wonderous one   Posts: 1 Joined: 9/10/2004 Status: offline I just inherited about 100 old bottles, most of them are either clear glass or a purple hue, all have water or calcium marks, The seam does not go into the lip of the bottles. One has an Eagle inside a design TRADEMARK on the front, chili powder on the side design parento on the bottom. One has MONROE DRUG on the side. One has Bowman drug store on the front. One has WM SPENCER and Son, Cincinatti Oh, on the front. One Has an S and B intertwined. One has GRATIS LINE. One has ER Durkee & Co. One has Watkins. There are several small slim medicine (?) bottles, several round bottles. all look like they should have corks or stoppers. Do I have anything interesting? Post #: 1

RE: old bottles - 9/12/2004 1:48:57 AM    bigkitty53   Posts: 286 Joined: 3/28/2004 From: Bermuda Status: offline Hi Violet, Welcome to the forum.It sounds like you have mostly pharmaceuticals and seasoning(spice) bottles.Not my area of interest,I'm afraid,although there are probably others on this forum who are a lot more knowledgable about these.As a general rule only the embossed bottles have any desirability,unembossed bottles WITH a paper label,(whole or partial) are also 'keepers',...usually.Coloured glass bottles,ditto.If you can post a picture of any of your bottles that fit this criteria someone may be able to give you more info.
