RE: old container-anyone know what it was used for? - 1/13/2004 8:43:53 PM    Guest i agree with woody that it is a gravity bottle for a stove. you would pull on the bracket and twist it 90 degrees and it would hold the valve open ,turn to the position it is in now and it shuts off.the spring you see held the valve closed. there would have been a tip sticking out the top( rusted away) to connect a hose. _____________________________ Always looking Mint Cola bottles, and local bottles from North Carolina (in reply to 0cean)   Post #: 3
