ok all you bottle experts heres one for ya! a buddy of mine dug this in knoxville,  was wondering if yall ever seen this one or any info would be great,  it reads ENGRE JAPONAISE and below that MANTONE & PILS im guessing its a master ink,  just wondering what the embossment means????? heres the pix

I believe the translation,  ENGRE JAPONAISE, translates to Japanese Ink.
The language is of French origin.

For whatever reason, pottery ink doesn't seem to be worth much to bottle collectors.
Look at the prices for Denby pottery inks on eBay to get a good estimate for what your ink is worth.
Check completed listings.

My friend dug one of these with a cobalt blue glaze. Made in France, The lower markings should read   '' Matone & Fils'', which means Matone & Son, the French ink company. Have seen a few, they seem to date to the 1920s-1930s
