hi i dug this r. riddle bottle and am having a hard time finding info on it. i found tons on w. riddle but none on r. riddle .are they the same ?? it has an iron pontil and needs a tumble but is chip and crack free. any info would be great thanks ,matt

the iron pontil ,it has a pushed to one side look ,real cool !

On 2-28-07 I sold one just like on ebay for $35 plus $6.55 shipping. But thats the only info I have on it.

Hey matt...
I had a R. Riddle once,I sold it.
I looked in a few books and didn't see it in any of them.I'm sure its a family thing, just like Seitz & bros in our area.F seitz, Seitz & Bro,and J seitz.
I am sure someone knows out there in bottle land.

W. Riddle was William Riddle, and R. Riddle was Robert Riddle. The R. Riddle bottles like yours come iron pontiled or smooth-based. Of course, the pontiled one is earlier and scarcer. If I remember correctly, William and Robert Riddle were related, and William was older. I did some research on them after I dug a broken R.Riddle bottle last year. ~Jim
