Hi guys, went back to my old school spot to give it another try. The weather has been wet so the dirts been heavy. Carved a 2x3 foot opening and hit some shards a few feet down. Between 2 and 4 feet nothing and was about to give up when a sauce bottle popped at 5 feet. Bottomed out at 6 feet and started following the vein. Nothing exciting yet but got some old glass. Found a broken bottom from a OP and some other sauces and a nice Mason hammered with whittle. I'll post when cleaned up.

Rocky

Nice stealth digging! Whoever dumped there sure liked their sauces.

The durkee probably held salad dressing? I wonder if they packed honey in the same kind of bottles too?

Thanks for the post. The shape of the bottle does fit for salad oil. The embossed hand is kind of weird. I can't figure out what a hand/glove would represent.

Hi Matt, thanks for the info. the bottle shape is common to the others that I found. I thought they were sauce bottles but I guess they could have held most anything.

Howzit Rocky,
looks like you found another good spot, I am pretty sure you are going to find some good bottles there, nothing much to report on Oahu, my friends are digging a construction site in Iwalei, near the old Dole cannery, I am not digging there, ground is contaminated with oil and who knows what else, smells like diesel fuel, give's you a headache, not worth getting sick for some bottles, the construction workers did find  some really good bottles a while ago and sold it to some of the antique dealers  here, my friends are not having any luck, finding crushed bottles, some Hawaiian marble stoppers, and Hawaiian ambers, ground is hard like rock and you got to dig past the hard compact dirt, when you reach down the bottom you will hit a layer that is black oil and smelly, the construction workers found some bottles that was black and filled with oil, hard to clean, I picked a few bottles, got to get some kind of digging machine to dig a large area and dig deeper, my friends are not covering enough ground and avoiding the oil and hoping to find bottles in the compact dirt. For some strange reason the construction stopped, either lack of funds or the contaminated ground, good luck in your dig, post more pictures aloha earl

When did you get the shots? Think you got sick from them?

You should be able to get your money back, hehe.
