MIKMIS...seems he cut the top of the flask off , making an ID more difficult. These have been reproduced several times in an assortment of colors and neck/mouth finishes.
I checked his other items: a Clevenger Bros. reproduction and a Lincoln-Malice Towards None. The Lincoln was made around the time of the Civil War Centennial, supposedly by LE Smith Glass.
Given these two are not authentic, logic would indicate the Dyottville also isn't.
BUT - hard to tell with but a single pic ta go on and the neck being "cut-off." in that pic.
Ask him to post more & better pix.

On these original Dyottville bottles 90 percent of the time they have a small pontil. The pictures of this bottle are from one that I purchased off of ebay 2 weeks ago.Its probably the best bottle I have found on ebay

Michael on mine Philadelphia is spelled like all of the old time bottles from philly( philada).
also the clevengers have only 3 buttons on Taylors uniform jacket bust. Originals have 4.The embossing (Dyottville Glass Works Philada) is only on 1 side the Taylor side

I found a shard of one of these on my property recently and it looks like it has 5 buttons?

STEVE...good info.

COBALT...GI-38, GI-39,  and GI-40c have Taylor with 5 buttons. GI-39a has Taylor with no buttons. The remainder do have 4 buttons.

There are so many variations of this flask that a fellow could have a collection solely of them. And that doesn't include  all the color variations, nor the different neck/mouth finishes.

Thanks!  The shard is aqua so it could have been any of those style numbers you mentioned? I dug it with old stuff so I know it wasn't a repro.

COBALT...yes it could have been either of those McKearin #s.

Got some bad news: may be uplifting and mebbe not.
Seems I have what I know is a Clevenger repro and Taylor has 4 buttons.
Another I have shows where a button was peened out, leaving but three.
Yet another shows indistinguishable bumps and are hard to count...It is also smooth based , whereas the previous noted two have a circular hole in the base center...(simulated pontil)....sheesh.
And, the smooth based flask is lacking the Dyottville inscription...

I am very far from being an expert on these but the color of that bottle really has me thinking reproduction.

HUFF...this is one flask that was originally made in a variety of colors, so color is not always an indication of a reproduction.
Honey amber, Cornflower blue, Sapphire blue (medium), Blue - violet tone, Emerald green, Puce - medium, Puce - deep, Amethyst, Clear green, Olive yellow, Pale shaded amber, Yellow green, Aquamarine, Deep wine or claret, Sage green, Light sapphire blue, Pale yellow green, Olive amber, Clear golden amber, Sapphire blue- violet tone, Amber - medium.
And possibly other variations of color have been documented since McKearin & Wilson published their book in 1978.
