This weekend was spent on the North shore of Onedia Lake at the site of an old homestead that dates back to the 1820s, not much left, a caved in fieldstone cellar, two wells and remnants of a barn foundation. Bottles so far have all been broken, blackglass, pontiled bases, ect., but this stone turned up in the bottom of cellar. Its almost perfectly round, 9" diameter and about 1 1/2" thick. The hole is sort of squared and looks to have rope grooves worn into it. Maybe an anchor of sorts? Not sure the type of stone but it is layerd, could have been thicker at one time, doesn't seem the type for a grinding wheel or mill stone.
