Finally found a sc dispensary rum bottle.  It's pint size, aqua blue, no bottom mark.  No cracks or chips, and very clean.  I was very lucky.  I found it on the bank of a river were a bulldozer had made a path.  missed the bottle by inches, but also uncovered it.  I know some of the dispensary bottles are more rare than others.  any help would be apprieciated.

i don't have an actual value for you but i do know that the round ones are some of the more valuable ones. you may want to ck ebay and see what they are going for. there are some good books on dispencery bottles out there but i don't have any.

You need to go back and look for more.  Never seen one posted like that until now.  Great find!

In general the palmetto ones seem to sell much higher than the monogrammed ones. The last one I saw like that sold for $350 several years ago.

The whiskey or straight lip pint rums are a little more pricey but from what I have seen yours average around $300.
You should realy go back where you found it and look for more.

Hi Lowcountry,

Phillip Huggins book The South Carolina Dispensary lists nearly all of the pint cylinders as "very rare" with a few listed as "comparatively scarce"....none have glass makers marks.
The book doesn't give value but confirms that you've got a beauty there!! I'd love to see the embossing alittle clearer.
Regards,
Marjorie

P.S. "Very rare" in Huggins' book is described as 6-10 known specimen!

Marjorie

I live in NC and with find them sometimes. The round pint with palmetto with the words South Carolina not just SC is the most wanted and sells around 2 to 3 hundred bucks.

thanks all. my computer crashed so I'm just reading responses.  I will try to get a better picture of the embossing.  Maybe I'll try outside.  I don't know the best tecniques for photographing bottles.
