I'd imagine they were a hell of a lot rarer than embossed bottles, as the company that used them was too small/cheap to buy embossed bottles from a glass manufacturer! _____________________________ Looking for bottles from Glen Ridge, Montclair, Bloomfield, Orange, East Orange, West Orange, South Orange, and if I like 'em, any other bottles from Essex County NJ! There are a number of Blob Top bottles with embossed names and porcelain stoppers. Byron & Vicky Martin do a good job of identifying them in their "HERE'S TO BEERS" volume. They do not show your etched one however but I sure think it's possible it's an original. early users used whatever bottles they could acquire if there happened to be a shortage somehow. I remember seeing ads in old directories and newspapers for dealers of used containers including bottles.
