hi everyone.  decided to tackle the hill again sun.  did a little better,  found some older western md. milks, and a milk that i think is from d.c..  found a small area of early 70's soda's.  found a few more briardale cola by r c,  a diff crass bottle and some more common ones.  some one was thoughtful and put the caps back on the bottles,  easy to clean.  when i went to clean them i notice one of the briardales had a  r c cola cap on it?  but i didn't find any rc sodas. did find more teasers.  thanks for looking,  rhona

Wow, More milks that cleaned up really good.  Is this the hillside near the new houses?  Is that a Noxzema ( large Z on base) in the foreground?  The milks in the dumps here don't fare as well.  Most are broken, or scratched and stained real bad.  Good luck on the next dig.

You did alot better than I did on Sunday Rhona.  My hillside dump was full of nothing but teasers - a virgin 1870s - TOC dump with every single bottle in it broken.  I have seen a high degree of breakage before but nothing like that  - can only figure than the local kids had nothing to do with their time and took it out on the bottles...

The milks are nice, especially the little guy.  Any embossment on the broken blob soda?  Any chance of an old seem lurking on that hllside?

Arrrrg about the blob.  Nice for a day of digging chica.  Amazed that you STILL  are getting milks.  Must have been lots of generations of milk drinkers.  Wishing they were Whiskey or Squat Pontilled soda drinkers. eh?  Great job Rhona

Rhona,
Those have to be some of the cleanest dump bottles I have seen.
When I spent some brief time digging a dump in Western MD(Frostburg area) all the bottles were heavily stained.

Good finds!

Keep on finding them,
Doug

hi buster, E, ben, doug and mike,  thanks for looking.  i was lucky the milks and soda's did clean up nice.  the blue jar is a noxzema w/ lg.Z. the one blob top has 2 initials  c. w., the base has M.K. on it.  there is a lot of glass spread over a couple of acres.  i  think possibly with all the deer trails and tracks, that they have broke and kick the pieces all over the hill over the last 80+ years.  (my theory ).  ben, i would have loved to have found some old sodas and whiskeys.  mike,  the briardale cola is one that no one seems to know much about.  wish i could have found a couple of the crass.  thanks everone,   rhona   ps the broken med. is listed as uncommon
