My brother got us permission to dig almost two city blocks of continuous lots. There is a bank at the rear of the lots that was used as a dump for the houses above. There are layers that go 8-10 feet deep. We have found bottles from top to bottom with the highest concentration being nearest the top layer. here are a few photos of our digs. We found about 8 or 9 milks 2 lightning sodas and a few beers.

Looks like a nice thick layer of trash...you should find a lot of stuff in there.  Good luck!

You seem to hit some really great digs. I recall one yard you dug that was nearly all filled in with bottles and dump, the post thread is probably still on here somewhere. Hope you get enough time to dig this new one all the way.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the site...maybe a bucket, or a small Bobcat.

We did some more digging today. It was like a heatwave. We found a milk a local beer a few medicines and a flint glass perfume. Here is a picture one of those dont try this at home photos. The ground was frozen 10 inches deep and we were not worried about cave ins. I let Zane take evrything except this one I kept for my sons collection. I have never dug a Dr. August Koenigs Hamburger Tropfen but I am sure it probably common.

Meech come on up this is the best time to dig no bugs and its not to hot. I made it down to dig after Zane talked to you. This place is hit and miss but its all ash so its not hard digging.

That's what you call a digger's igloo.  You might want to put a vent through the roof and get set up for the winter in there.  I could make a home out of that.

I saw a listing in Baldwin's book, dated it to 1892.

Matt's guide lists it as a German sample bottle.   Value @  $8.00 in 2005.

Zane, I think you might get best dump photo for the one where you're looking out from the hole..great pics.

Thanks for the compliment. I have a few photos from our unproductive dig today at the same place. I just have to load them into the puter.

Craig,

This bottle was manufactured by A. Vogeler & Co in Baltimore, MD.  The bottle is listed as uncommon in aqua in the current Baltimore Bottle Book.

Thanks Marc we dug some more today a few common meds and inks and two nice marbles and I got the itch to go do some exploreing. We crossed the river into WVa. and scoped out a few prospects. Check out the river pictures and the famous Wabash railroad bridge that carried the railroad over the ohio river on the mainline from Pittsburgh Pa to Columbus Ohio

I think we pulled like 20 or so Hamburger trophens out of the same hole, pontilled and smooth.  Thought they were common around here.

They might be JGUIS I think Doug said they were common too.I took some pictures of the train bridge today and it has rows of insulators hanging off the side of the bridge and I thought you were into them a little I will post some pictures as soon as I crop them down a little.
