new collector but have always had some old or unusual bottles around. two weeks ago was talking to my brother about things kids do like the time in about 1969 we found a pile of bottles and spent hours breaking bottles.i know the just the thought probably hurts some of you. well we decided to go find them, what we found was painted label sodas nugrape 10 different cities from 1947 to 1957, 10 orange crush 1947-54, double cola 53, RC 51&57, pepsi 47&56,milkay 1964,masons RB. 1949 &54,2 frostie 59&65,7oz hillenbrand 1943,3 maddings 1950,grapette 1947,b-1 1954,8oz circle a brand,sun crest 10 oz 1954,5 32oz vogels beverages, 15 or so 6 1/2oz vogel,20 NM 10oz 3V cola,high rock-sun drop 1946 10oz. then we started to think wher are the old dumps. didnt find the real old dumps but we did find 6 ball masons with 30 zinc lids,sloans linament,porter linament,mcelrees cardui,sponds compound,milk jars 3qt 1pt 1 1/2pt,coke evansville & cincinnati 58&54,Dr. caldwells monticello IL, yellowstone louisville ky 1949,ink bottles, insulators, 7 marbles,and probably 2 hundred others odd shape 1/2" to 12" medicine perfume ink etc. Did I do good? Any value? Some to keep some to sell there everywhere. Now to go find the old ones. Are chiped or cracked ones keepers $wise

Collectitall, that's quite a variety you've got there. There's a good market for the painted label soda bottles, better known as ACL or applied color label bottles in the trade. I've seen Grapette's listed as high as $30, and Orange Crush and Pepsi always sell well. Make a list of your bottles including what city they were bottled in as theres a lot of people looking for regional or locally produced ones. I never ceased to be amazed to see someone pay $7 - $40.00 for a 20 - 30 year old ACL, but wouldn't think of putting down $5 for a 100+ year old embossed medicine or cure! If you do a search on google or other search engine, believe me, you'll find a lot of sites for buyers, sellers for your sodas. Usually at the bottle shows there's a table full of dug bottles, many times with the dirt still on them, and there always seems to be a crowd in front of the table. Those $5+ sales add up fast if you're looking to turn a quick profit. Why don't you post a list for the rest of us?
