While digging yesterday I came up with this odd looking item. it appeared to be a shot glass at first glance but when I got it out of the dirt I noticed it wasn't open like a glass but was filled to within a 1/4" of the top with glass. When you look at it it appears now to be a full shot of clear glass. Any ideas? The bottom of it is dwawn up a bit in the center and ground and polished.

My mom has a paper wight like that. It is supposed to be a thimble and the bottom she used for holding pins. Got it from her mom.

It's not a print viewer is it?  Put it down on a newspaper and see if it magnifies.

No magnification detected. I think I'll stick with paperweight and not toil over it's origins anymore. It does look cool sitting on the computer table though I must say.
