hey all heres a few find from the ohio river bank from a day ago. the first is a clam shell thats had holes bored in it. for buttons maybe??next is a thick piece of round glass thought at first maybe for glasses but has no magnification to it . 3 clay marbels the middle one has color in it( purple)theres a small lid and a rouge case. thanks for looken bill

I think the clam shell was for toothbrush holder. I have found several during my digs like it, and that is what some have told me anyway. It would be like a top of modern holders the handle would be pointed down through the holes in the shell and some sort of bottom container below. Nice finds btw. Petty

hey thanks prettydigger sounds good to me. i had thought because there were a few old botton factorys around that maybe they had bored out buttons your ideal make alot of sense. thanks agian bill

Hi....around where I live we find holes in clam shells all the time.But,we have a button factory here,that is still in operation. :-)
