This bottle intrigued me. The color screamed new to me but looking closer I second guessed myself. It has significant bubbles throughout, top is tooled about halfway up the neck. The bottom reads "Richardson & co st louis" Is this an old bottle? Is it a "$good$" bottle lol ? Is this color commonly seen ? I appreciate any imput. Thanks James

Its a real old bottle and in a nice deep teal blue, a collector of color will like it. depending on the shade of blue will determine how common. On my monitor it looks dead on between green and blue, which is the most common of the teals, still a nice bottle.

looks to be from the late 19th century . 1870s , 1890s . 20.00 dollars would be top dollar for this type bottle.

Nice colour! It's not a super common colour although it's not super rare because it does show up in the fairly common but nonetheless beautiful Rumford Chemical Works bottle. Unfortunately because there isn't too much embossing it doesn't have an awful lot of value, like Sunrunner says it's probably worth around $20, maybe a bit less.

It is also a quite common color for the numerous J S P bottles that are found everywhere and contained I am told beer or ale, also some folks maintain it was a sauce, but there was one on sale on flea-bay a year ago that had beer labels on it. somebody here may know what they held for sure. even then worth only maybe ten bucks on a good day.

I haven't been able to find a picture of one of those bottles with a label online, but I've seen them before and from what I can find on the forum it seems to have been malt extract. For those who don't know (including myself before looking it up), malt extract was a sort of sweetening syrup used before corn syrup became popular. As for the beer label, that may have been a recycled bottle. Recycling of bottles for other uses was quite common around the turn of the century and before.
