Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pepsi was one of the 1st to experiment with No Return No Deposit Bottles. In 1948 they experimented with NRND, that didn't go over well, but the bottles are fairly common. They frequent eBay and typically sell for 35ish. NRND caught on and was in mass production in the mid 1960's. From that point on, the NRND bottles are pretty common and do not command much money.

However, between those 2 time-frames, Pepsi must have tried NRND again. Those bottles are much more rare and we they come up for sell, they typically sell for a high price. I happened to get 2 of them. I'm not sure if Pepsi was just testing NRND in certain markets or what.

1st. A 1956 8oz bottle from Brockway Machine Bottle Co. This bottle is a small Single-Dot NRND that is similar to the full-size returnable bottles of that time period.

2nd. A 1959 7oz bottle also from Brockway. This has the same Pepsi Logo, but is a textured bottled. This bottle was one I had never seen. It's not listed in any of the Pepsi books I have, and I didn't know it existed until I scooped it up. I have no idea how rare this one it.

Here they are with the 1948 6oz.

Very cool NDNR's....so the foam wrapped were NDNR?....by that time (late 80's -90's) in Canada they had a deposit.

Those are awesome! I did not know they existed. Great finds. I just recently got one of the 1948 6 oz's.

Huh how about that...never knew that J...I'll have to double check my Canadian's but I'm pretty sure there was a deposit/refund on them.

Considering they are both Brockway Bottles, I'm sure they were.
