NO PONTILED OR HANDMADE MARBLES AS FAR AS I CAN SEE. AS FAR AS A GREAT MARBLE SITE GO TO "MARBLE CONNECTION" AND SHOW THE PICTURES. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE NICE PEOPLE AND LOVE TO SEE PICTURES AND HELP YOU. JUST LIKE PEOPLE ARE GREAT HERE HELPING. THE MARBLE CONNECTION IS ANTIQUE-BOTTLE.NET'S COUNTER PART FOR MARBLES! PM ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY SAY. WHEN I CAN I WANT TO PUT PICTURES OF ALL MY PONTILED MARBLES ON THERE AND SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME TOO ,AS WELL AS ON HERE. ROAD DOG KNOWS BOUT MARBLES ON THIS FORUM,MAYBE HE WILL SEE THIS AND HELP YOU ,OR YOU CAN PM HIM AND ASK HIM TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR MARBLES. JAMIE

Athometoo, great score. My daughter collects marbles, she always waits for me to come home from my digs/garage sale days to see if I scored any for her. You hit the jackpot :)

I don't deal much with newer marbles. These were probably made within the last 20 years. Not real collectable.

Well I enjoyed reading all of you marble postings. When I was about 14 to 16, I had jugs of marbles that I won around our temporary home in Rochester. I still have some. I have a little wooden box of stone marbles, that are really old, they were my Grandfathers, when he was a boy. I have been to two marble factories when I was traveling the world visiting glass houses. I have also been to the Corning Drop Tower in Corning NY. One of the factories was was in Illinois - up near Streator IL. Another was in France. Interesting thread, I will have to check out that "MARBLE CONNECTION". Thanks, RED Matthews

That's an industrial type marble. No pontil. Glass temp was too cool when marble was made causing the creases. Probably foreign.

Really fun stuff I love to play with the marbles in a round[:D] about way. My Grandson likes them too I made him a leather pouch for them. Very nice.
