Are these marbles? They were found in dirt that had been moved from the Birmingham area about 20 years ago. Some of the bottles that I have posted in the past came from the same dirt and dated prior to 1900. I will post pics of a few other things that were found at the same time and place. I will appreciate any help and comments. Thanks

The marbles appear to be, a clay marble on the left, and a blue Bennington on the right. Bennington's are German made from what I understand. Nice stoppers too.

Thanks guys for responding. Woodwalker I like the little doll too. I thought at first she may be a "frozen Charlotte doll, but now I don't think so.

Hi Nancy, What is the size of the larger marble ? From the looks of it it may be a limestone is it heavy or very light ? A quick way to find out for sure is to put some type of acid on it or vineger it will react with bubbling and vapor if it is a limestone. The other one is a benny for sure and a late one at that.......Greg

Clam, the big one measures almost an inch in diameter and weighs about an ounce. I tried the vinegar test and nothing happened, so I guess it's clay. Not sure what you mean by "late" on the bennington. I posted another pic of it. Thank you for helping me with them.
