I've picked up a few milks and other dairy items during my time. Here are the bottles from my collection. First up is the A. R. Beaver's and Son pint and quart from North Tazewell, VA, which is a town that officially doesn't exist any longer having combined with it's close neighbor Tazwell VA in the 1960's.

Southern Maid didn't just exist in Bristol, Va and the surrounding towns, but also had a branch in Bluefield, Welch, and Williamson, WV.

While most Southern Maid milk bottles are embossed, they did produce an acl at one point; however, I don't think they lasted that long.

One of Southern Maid's competitors would long outlast the competition, Pet Dairy Company of Johnson City, Tenn. Here is an early acl from the brand, while it isn't in mint shape, it's not too bad for a five dollar find.

I also have a few go withs as well including this 1920's era Southern Maid Ice Cream thermometer from the Southern Refrigeration Company. This company would change it's name to Southern Maid Inc. in the early 1930's.

Damn I went to Kingsport today and came home with two more milk bottles, as if yesterday's quart Southern Maid acl wasn't enough. I picked up a Rotherwood Dairy 1/4 pint from Kingsport, and a Pinemont Dairy half gallon from Bristol. Hey the half gallon was only five bucks, now the Rotherwood was fifty six dollars, but the company didn't bottle long as Pet Dairy started bottling and delivering their milk for them. I'll have to post them when they are dry.
