I think the one with the spout on the bottom is either an early piece of IV equipment or a laboratory bottle used for who knows what kindsa laboratory work.. the other one with the handle, I'm guessing, is mid 20th century art glass, possibly Mexican..

So what tells you the handled one is newer just curious

The reason I think it's newer is because I can't see it having a practical purpose. It looks like a purely decorative piece.. also, if you look at the bottom, there's not much base wear, not always there on all originals but for older pieces it is expected.. then there's the handle.. it does not look balanced with the 'golden ratio' seen on early pieces.
Other than that, your guess is as good as mine.. let's see what the real experts say.. [8|]

Thanks I truly appreciateit. I love the old bottles and I want to make sure I don't get newer pieces that just look like they are old. My daughter purchased a house in Gillsburg, Ms. that was built in the 1800's, we are trying to find where the outhouse or dump site was to start digging. If anyone knows where there is dig sites down south I would love to know. Again thanks for all the info.

So do you have any opinons on the cordials

Of course I do! [:)]

I prefer Jaegermeister and Unicum, but Kahlua and Bailey's are quite good as well.. my spouse likes the fruity ones but when we can only buy one bottle and have to share it, we get the Bailey's..

Guess that means they are junk

These? No. not junk.. I just don't know anything at all about them, except they look more interesting than most cordial glasses I see at the flea market.. I call upon our REAL experts to field this inquiry..!

I'm going to go with Cyber. They look all like 19th century even if they are pontil. The vessel is nice as are the cordials but both should have been made to higher standards for the people they were meant for.
The lab bottle isn't unusual to find with a pontil in the 40's either, even today for that matter. The shape and design for some specific types and infrequent use can make it impractical to make a mold. Yours is fairly basic so I'm going for some age, just not a lot.
Just an thought.

I plan to keep them, just curious of their value. I'm trying to learn more to know what to keep or sale. I dismantle old houses and run accross interesting things often.
