Very nice. I like how the color is darker / deeper at the base. Is it pontilled?

Yes it is iron pontiled. And yes it is very thick glass on the bottom half accounting for the darker blue color.

which Townsends type is it? I have seen OLD DR. J. TOWNSENDS SARSAPARILLA NEW YORK in that color but not the regular Dr TOWNSENDS.
Rare in any case...

I was just looking at a light green example of that bottle today at my pals antique booth...That is simply an amazing color. Looks like you've dug and found some pretty great glass.

Chris I found that one in California. Had a guy contact me the other day who had heard of mine. He just got one that was dug in a gold rush town. The bottles appear to be identical.
