I have dug some decent inks, but never even pieces of this one.

The Newville Hysterical Society has the larger one. It is the only one I have ever seen.

I knew of the little one for a few years, but it was never for sale. Every time I talked with or bought other bottles from the owner, I would mention it. Haven't been to Balto. for at least 12 years, but when I talked to him, he said he brought it to the show. First thought - he brought it and sold it before the show opened. Nope - he had it back and was holding it for me! I had never seen this one, but he had described it for me a few times. Came out of a local estate, but not Newville. Another small town about 7 miles away. Now if I wouldn't have gone... well... I don't know if he would have taken it home for me or not, but the stars aligned this time!

Now I just need to dig the bigger size. But I think the pics prove where it's from. I'll have to do some research at the Society.

Enjoy.

I'm glad to see that you got that one, Dave. Not many towns have a local, pontiled ink. Congratulations! ~Jim

Unlisted anywhere that this ink collector's ever seen. Not in Covill, not in Faulkner's book. I've never seen one and never heard of it before.

Yep, need a bib for the drool.
