I need help finding out what I have. I have two jugs that I believe are I.M MEAD. One has markings with a number 2 and I.M MEAD PORTAGE Co OHIO on it and the other is a bit odd. It has the same number 2 but is is oddly shaped, it has a a big ding in it but yet its stone ware.

PLEASE HELP

I cant find any info on the internet about these jugs.

They look like pickle or sauerkraut crocks to me....Hopefully others will have more info...

We found them in my wife grandmothers attic, I just cant find solid info about them. Glad I found this forum

Isaac Mead lived not very far from where I live. I've heard he was a potter from 1838 to 1860.

Nice crock! Made just a few miles from where I live. I've found many broken Mead crocks in dumps and even one in my yard, but haven't found a whole one. It's on my wish list along with a S. Purdy crock, another local potter.
