The Maltine MFG Co. Chemists New York with stopper The question has been ask by cowseatmaize does this stopper belong on this bottle? Never seen a top on one before even on the net searches !

I'm going with nope. Maltine was be before plastic. Looks nice though. Probably the lid of of a decorative piece.

The more i looked at it after you said that the more i am pretty sure it does not belong it looks good on it but that is it.

Here's a pic (not mine) of a original labelled corked bottle. This cork is the original. The corl would have been originally wrapped in a red colored seal.

Somewhere around here in my ginormous mess I have a picture, an old snap shot paper photo, of a bunch of bottles I bought out of an old timey pharmacy up here in northern Idaho. Included in that bunch was a complete labeled, sealed bottle of Maltine. I'll try to locate it just for documentation.
